Brand Collaboration Contract Template: A Clause-by-Clause Guide

A downloadable influencer-brand collaboration contract template in Word and PDF, with practical notes on completing each clause, from parties and scope to payment and usage rights.

A brand collaboration contract puts an influencer partnership on a formal footing: it records who the parties are, what will be produced, when it will be published, how much will be paid and how the content may be used. The template below covers the seven sections most influencer collaborations need, and you can download it in Word or PDF format to adapt for your own campaigns. It is intended for general information only, so have it reviewed by a legal professional before you use it.

Why Every Collaboration Needs a Written Contract

Most disputes between brands and creators are not about bad intentions. They come from assumptions that were never written down: how many stories were included, whether the brand could reuse the video in ads, when the second payment was due, or what happens if the campaign is postponed.

A written contract turns those assumptions into agreed terms. It gives both sides:

  • A shared definition of the deliverables, so "one post" means the same thing to everyone.
  • A timeline with separate submission and publication dates.
  • Clear payment terms, including amounts, instalments and the payment method.
  • Defined usage rights, so the brand knows where and for how long it can use the content.
  • A plan for cancellation, agreed while the relationship is still positive.

The Template: Seven Sections

1. Parties

Brand information:

  • Company name: ____________________
  • Tax ID: ____________________
  • Address: ____________________
  • Authorised person: ____________________

Influencer information:

  • Full name: ____________________
  • ID number: ____________________
  • Address: ____________________
  • Social media accounts: ____________________

The template was prepared for collaborations in Türkiye, where the influencer's ID number is the national identity number (T.C. Kimlik No). Use the company's full legal name as it appears on invoices, make sure the authorised person can sign on the brand's behalf, and list the exact account handles that will publish the content.

2. Scope of Work

Under this contract, the influencer will produce the following content:

  • Instagram Post (quantity: ___)
  • Instagram Story (quantity: ___)
  • Instagram Reels (quantity: ___)
  • YouTube Video (quantity: ___)
  • TikTok Video (quantity: ___)
  • Blog Post (quantity: ___)

Tick only the formats you have actually agreed and fill in a quantity for each. If a format needs more detail, such as the number of story frames or the approximate length of a video, add a short note next to it.

3. Content Requirements

  • The brand will be tagged in all content: @___________
  • The campaign hashtag will be used: #___________
  • The product or service will appear visually
  • All content will state that it is advertising (in Türkiye, with labels such as #reklam and #işbirliği)

Disclosure is not optional. For the current labelling rules in Türkiye, see our guide on how to label influencer ads.

4. Timeline

ContentSubmission deadlinePublication date
Content 1//___//___
Content 2//___//___
Content 3//___//___

Keep the submission deadline well ahead of the publication date. The gap is the time the brand has to review the draft and request changes.

5. Payment Terms

  • Total fee: ____________ TL + VAT
  • Payment 1 (50%): on signing the contract
  • Payment 2 (50%): within 7 business days of the content being published
  • Payment method: bank transfer
  • IBAN: ____________________

These fields reflect the Turkish setup: the fee is stated in Turkish lira plus VAT (KDV) and paid by bank transfer to an IBAN. If you work in another currency or country, adapt the fields and confirm the tax treatment with an adviser.

6. Copyright and Usage Rights

  • The brand may share the content on its own channels
  • The content may be used as advertising for ___ months
  • The influencer will not collaborate with competing brands for ___ months

The blanks in this section deserve the most attention, because longer advertising use and longer exclusivity carry more value for the brand and more restriction for the creator. Define which brands count as "competing" and which channels the advertising use covers. Our guide to UGC usage rights and ad licensing explains how to scope these terms.

7. Cancellation and Penalties

  • Cancellation by the brand: refund of the payment or an alternative date
  • Cancellation by the influencer: refund of the payments received

How to Fill In the Template Step by Step

  1. Agree the commercial terms first. Settle the fee, deliverables, dates and usage period in writing before you open the template.
  2. Complete the parties section with legal names and the correct identification details.
  3. Tick the deliverables and enter quantities. Anything not listed is not part of the agreement.
  4. Fill in the tag, hashtag and disclosure lines exactly as they should appear in the content.
  5. Enter the dates for each piece of content, leaving review time between submission and publication.
  6. Complete the payment and rights sections, including the advertising-use and exclusivity periods.
  7. Review together and get legal advice. Both sides should read the final version before anyone signs.
  8. Sign before production starts and before the first payment is made, then keep the signed copy and any written approvals on file.

Points Worth Discussing Before You Sign

The template covers the core terms. Depending on the campaign, you may also want to discuss the following with your legal adviser and add them where relevant:

  • Revisions: how many rounds of changes are included and how feedback will be given.
  • Approval process: who approves drafts on the brand side and how quickly.
  • Content lifetime: how long the post should stay live on the creator's account.
  • Confidentiality: how unreleased products or campaign details are protected before launch.
  • File delivery: whether raw footage or only the final edit will be handed over.
  • Crisis handling: how content is paused or removed if something goes wrong.

Using the Template

Copy the template above and adapt it to your campaign's scope, dates and payment terms.

This template is for general information purposes only. Do not use it without obtaining legal advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this template for any influencer campaign?

It covers the sections most collaborations need: parties, scope, content requirements, timeline, payment, rights and cancellation. Every campaign is different, so adapt the blanks to your deal and have the final version reviewed by a legal professional.

Can I use the template outside Türkiye?

The template was written with Türkiye in mind, with fees in Turkish lira plus VAT, a national ID field and payment to an IBAN. If you work in another country or currency, adapt those fields and check the local legal and tax requirements with an adviser.

Why is payment split 50/50?

The template uses one payment on signing and one within seven business days of publication. This gives the creator commitment before production starts and gives the brand assurance that the second half is paid once the content is live.

What should the usage rights section cover?

At minimum, where the brand may share the content, for how many months it can be used as advertising and how long the creator will avoid working with competing brands. Leaving these blanks vague is the most common source of later disagreement.
