Move creator UGC into Meta ads with explicit rights, approvals, asset connections, creative tests, fatigue control and net contribution.
You can use UGC videos in Meta ads safely only when the advertising use is licensed in the contract, the video passes a separate ad review, your Meta assets are properly connected, and you test and measure it with clear rules. A UGC video can suit advertising because it looks natural, but a creator delivering the file does not give the brand unlimited usage rights. Production, approval, licensing, media preparation, the Meta connection, testing and measurement have to run as one operational chain.
Tie usage rights to the contract first
The UGC scope should cover at least these areas:
| Rights area | Explicit decision |
|---|---|
| Channels | Brand account, website, product page, Meta ads |
| Duration | Start and end date, or a perpetual licence |
| Territory | Türkiye or other defined markets |
| Editing | Cutting, subtitles, format and music changes |
| Identity | Can the creator's name or handle be used? |
| Revisions | Number of revisions and limits on off-brief changes |
| Raw files | Whether raw footage will be delivered |
A creator's fee for organic publishing and a paid-media licence are separate economic values. Leaving this vague in the contract creates risk for both the creator's rights and the brand's operations. For a deeper look at licensing terms, see our guide to UGC usage rights and ad licensing.
Separate content approval from ad approval
A video can meet the brief and still not be ready for advertising. In the ad review, also check:
- The advertising relationship and any required disclosures
- Product claims that can be substantiated
- Copyrighted music or image risk
- Text safe zones across different placements
- Subtitles for sound-off viewing
- Whether the opening introduces the product accurately and quickly
- Consistency between the offer and the landing page
- The licence expiry date
On Influencer Marketplace, draft delivery, revision acceptance, content approval and ad usage are separate brand actions, managed in the Content and Publishing desk.
Complete the Meta asset dependencies
Connecting an Instagram account alone may not be enough to manage ads. App approval, brand consent, the ad account, the Facebook Page, the professional Instagram account, the pixel or dataset and the required permissions all have to be selected in the right chain.
Statuses should be shown honestly:
- READY: configuration and permissions are complete.
- CONFIGURATION_REQUIRED: an app or asset setting is missing.
- APPROVAL_REQUIRED: Meta App Review, advanced access or business verification is needed.
- NOT_ELIGIBLE: the account or asset does not meet a technical requirement.
Never show a fake "connected" state or generate demo campaign data.
Build a creative test matrix
If the creator, hook, offer, length and CTA all change at once, you cannot tell which element drove the result. Keep the product and audience fixed first, and test one variable at a time.
Example test cells:
- Problem opening vs. result opening
- Expert narration vs. everyday user demo
- 10–15 seconds vs. 25–35 seconds
- Product close-up vs. usage context
- Offer CTA vs. educational CTA
Write down the winning criterion before the test starts. If CTR is good but landing-page conversion is low, the creative may be generating curiosity while the offer does not match. If there are purchases but returns are high, the video may have set the wrong expectation.
Manage creative fatigue
If CTR, hold rate or conversion falls as frequency rises, investigate creative fatigue. The answer is not only to cut budget. Keep the winning evidence and produce new variants: a different creator, hook, opening frame or length.
Brand Executive OS can create weekly tasks, but it cannot approve content drafts or publish automatically. When a scheduled post is due, the publishing worker re-checks the media URL, alt text, entitlement, token, quota and provider status.
Decide when to switch ads on or off
The Influencer Marketplace Meta Ads desk reads real campaign insights from the canonical provider. When a user approves an activate or pause decision, the system validates entitlement, management permission and campaign status, and writes an audit record. AI only offers a reasoned recommendation.
Even if you plan automated optimisation, it needs safety limits:
- An explicit limit on spend and budget changes
- A minimum observation window
- Checks for attribution and data delays
- A stock and licence-expiry gate
- Human override and an emergency stop
- A before-and-after audit for every decision
Read ROI correctly
Do not treat platform ROAS as accounting profit. Evaluate approved orders, cancellations and returns, product cost, creator production and licensing costs, and media spend together. If tracking is incomplete, report the uncovered conversions openly rather than filling the gap with estimates.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a creator's video in ads without permission?
No. Advertising use must be explicitly licensed in the contract. An agreement for organic publishing does not automatically grant paid-media rights.
Can AI pick the best video automatically?
AI can summarise the signals, but it should not declare a winner on its own before data coverage, creative rights and product economics have been checked.
Can the system pause Meta ads automatically?
Technically, management is possible with an approved Marketing API setup and the right permissions. In a production system, spend limits, minimum data, stock and licence checks and human control must be mandatory.
What should a UGC ad licence specify?
At minimum: channels, duration, territory, editing permissions, use of the creator's name or handle, revision limits and whether raw files are delivered. Agree each point before production starts.
Define rights from the start in UGC production, then approve and scale the winning videos with real performance data.
