How to Set Your Prices as an Influencer

Price your content with confidence: start from a follower benchmark, adjust for engagement, niche and effort, then sell clear packages from a rate card.

Set your influencer price by starting from a market benchmark for your follower range, then moving it up or down based on your engagement rate, your niche and the effort each piece of content takes. Bundling deliverables into packages and negotiating from a clear rate card usually matters as much as the number itself. The figures below are estimates for the Turkish market in Turkish lira (TL); the logic applies anywhere, but check local rates before you quote in another market.

Start with a benchmark for your follower range

Follower count is not the most important factor, but it is the easiest place to start. In Türkiye, estimated fees for a single Instagram post look like this:

Follower rangeEstimated Instagram post fee (Türkiye)
1K–10K500–2,000 TL
10K–50K2,000–8,000 TL
50K–100K8,000–20,000 TL
100K–500K20,000–75,000 TL
500K–1M75,000–200,000 TL
1M+200,000 TL+

Treat these ranges as a floor-and-ceiling check, not a price list. Where you sit inside a range depends on the factors in the next three sections. Two creators with the same follower count can reasonably quote very different fees if one has a highly engaged, specialised audience and the other does not.

Adjust for your engagement rate

Engagement rate matters more than follower count, because it shows whether people actually respond to what you post. A rough guide:

  • 1–2%: low. Your price may need to come down, or you need stronger proof of results.
  • 3–5%: average. Standard pricing for your range is reasonable.
  • 5–8%: good. You can justify premium pricing.
  • 8% and above: excellent. A high premium is defensible.

If you are unsure how to work out your rate, see our guide on how to calculate an influencer engagement rate. Use one consistent method and a recent period, so the number you show a brand holds up if they check it.

Factor in your niche

Some audiences are worth more to brands because the products they buy are more valuable or harder to sell. Broadly:

Niche valueExamples
High valueFinance, technology, B2B, luxury
Medium to highBeauty, fashion, health
MediumLifestyle, food, travel
VariableEntertainment, comedy, general

If your niche sits in a high-value group, each customer you refer can be worth more to the brand, which supports a higher rate even with a modest audience. If your niche is in the variable group, your pricing depends more heavily on engagement and on the results you can prove.

Price by content type and effort

Not every deliverable takes the same work, so it should not cost the same:

  • Simple Story: lower price.
  • Feed post: mid-range price.
  • Reels or video: higher price, typically 3–5 times a Story.
  • Professional shoot: premium price.

When you quote, count everything behind the deliverable: concept, scripting, filming, editing, revisions and how long the content stays on your profile. A Reel that takes a day to plan, shoot and edit is a different product from a quick Story, and your rate card should make that difference visible.

Two formulas to sanity-check your rate

Formulas will not set your price for you, but they help you check whether a quote is in a sensible zone.

Simple formula: Followers × 0.01 TL = base price. Example: 50,000 followers × 0.01 TL = 500 TL. Treat this as a minimum, not a target.

Advanced formula: (Followers × 0.01) × engagement multiplier × niche multiplier = price. Example: 50,000 × 0.01 × 4 × 1.5 = 3,000 TL, where 4 is the engagement multiplier and 1.5 is the niche multiplier.

The advanced result lands inside the 2,000–8,000 TL benchmark for the 10K–50K range, which is a good sign. If a formula gives you a number far outside the benchmark for your follower range, re-check your inputs before you quote.

Offer packages instead of single posts

Brands often get better value from a bundle, and you get a larger, more predictable deal. An example structure:

PackageContentExample price
Bronze1 post + 3 Stories5,000 TL
Silver2 posts + 5 Stories + 1 Reel12,000 TL
Gold3 posts + 10 Stories + 2 Reels + blog post25,000 TL

Three clear tiers make it easy for a brand to say yes to one of them. Spell out exactly what each package includes, how many revision rounds it covers and the delivery timeline, so nobody is surprised later. Negotiation tips

  1. Never name your price first. Ask about the brand's budget before quoting. The answer tells you which package to lead with.
  2. Prepare a rate card. A clear one-page rate card makes you look professional and shortens negotiations. Pair it with a strong media kit.
  3. Prove your value. Share a case study showing what a previous collaboration delivered and why it worked.
  4. Think long term. On a first deal, earning a little less can make sense if it brings a strong reference and repeat work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much should a micro-influencer charge in Türkiye?

For a single Instagram post, the estimated range is 500–2,000 TL with 1K–10K followers and 2,000–8,000 TL with 10K–50K followers. Your engagement rate, niche and the effort involved decide where you sit within that range.

Is follower count or engagement rate more important for pricing?

Engagement rate. Follower count gives you a starting benchmark, but engagement shows whether your audience actually responds. A creator with 5% or more engagement can justify premium pricing, while a rate of 1–2% may pull the price down.

Should I charge more for Reels than for Stories?

Yes. Reels and videos need far more planning, filming and editing, which is why they are typically priced at 3–5 times a Story. Professional shoots sit above that as a premium service.

Should I discount my first brand deal?

Earning a little less on a first collaboration can be worth it if it gives you a strong reference and a case study. Keep the discount deliberate and limited, and move to your standard rate card once you have proof of results.
