How to prepare a creator proposal and price for a brand collaboration

Prepare a creator proposal that makes deliverables, revisions, content usage rights and payment clear.

A good proposal does more than quote a price: it explains what work and usage rights are included. This lets the brand compare proposals and helps the creator understand expectations for extra work in advance. It is not correct to assume one fixed fee for every category or audience.

Divide the work into components

Write down the time needed for concept development, filming, editing and communication. If the creator will post on their own account, explain distribution separately. If paid ads, versions in more languages, extra revisions, travel, exclusivity or raw footage are needed, offer separate options. Both parties should agree the fee and scope; do not treat a hypothetical example as a market rate.

A one-page proposal

  1. Objective: What problem or product should the audience understand?
  2. Deliverables: Number, format and approximate length of videos, and captions.
  3. Process: Brief, concept approval, date and number of revisions.
  4. Rights: Organic and paid usage, term, country, editing and renewal.
  5. Payment: Fee, additional expenses, invoice, payment date and cancellation terms.
  6. Transparency: Disclosure of gifts, fees or commission and checking product claims.
  7. Measurement: Available reports, period and limits of the data.

For example, if the brand has a limited budget, both sides might agree on one video and a limited usage period instead of more videos. If paid advertising is needed later, agree separate terms. Obtain written approval before starting changes.

ASCI's self-regulatory guidance helps make promotion and material connections clear. For technical claims about health or finance, check relevant qualifications and applicable rules separately. Do not write a guarantee of sales, reach or income into the proposal.

Check the proposal before sending it

Read the scope as if you were the recipient: can the brand tell which account will publish, who supplies the product and when feedback is due? Add the conditions that could change timing or price, such as a delayed product delivery or an additional edit requested after approval. Keep optional rights and expenses separate from the agreed base work. After both parties agree, save the final proposal and any written changes with the project files.
