Prepare a brand proposal with verifiable examples, deliverables, revisions and content usage rights.

A good proposal helps the brand understand what it receives and helps you understand the work you are accepting. Start with a concrete client question, show a relevant skill and separate production, publication and later use.

Show evidence of your work

Choose an example close to the project: a product demonstration, workshop video or service explanation. Say whether you devised, filmed or edited it. If it is a personal project, say so. Do not invent a client or promise undocumented sales.

If the assignment requires a local community, share only aggregated data you can verify and that helps the decision. Follower count alone does not show how many people are interested in a specific city or product.

Separate offer components

ItemUseful information
ProductionFormat, quantity, language, timing and delivery.
PublicationAny post on your account and agreed window.
RevisionsNumber included, feedback deadline and extra changes.
UsageChannels, duration, territory, adaptations and advertising.
CompensationAmount, expected expenses and payment terms.

Copyright law is one source to consider when defining rights. For your situation, check the contract and any tax obligations with a professional. Do not assume file delivery settles every future use.

Adaptable first message

“Thank you for your enquiry. I can produce a short demonstration in Italian. To prepare an accurate offer, I need to know the intended channels, duration of use and whether paid ads are planned. Here is an example I produced addressing a similar need: [portfolio link].”

If a brand asks for a complete video before confirming the commission, you may propose a paid test with defined objective, delivery and rights. It is a negotiation option, not a promise every brand will accept.

Verify the counterparty

Contact the business through an independent address, check who signs and clarify payment. Do not share passwords or login codes. Before publication, agree how to identify commercial communication: AGCOM's FAQs provide format-specific guidance.

Frequently asked questions

Must I set a price before knowing the rights? You can ask for details or provide an estimate with explicit assumptions. Confirm the price when use is defined.

Is posting on my account included in UGC production? Not automatically. Describe and price the two services separately.
