Assess audience, content and agreement terms before launching a local creator campaign.

A craft workshop in Bologna does not necessarily need the profile with the most followers. It needs to understand whether people reached may be interested in the product, whether the creator can explain the work and whether the assignment can be completed on time. A documented choice starts with these questions, not a single metric.

Start with an observable objective

Define location, period and desired action. A shop may want to explain a collection service; a hospitality business may want to show what an experience includes. For nationwide online sales, the creator's ability to demonstrate the product may matter more than geographic proximity.

Separate content published on the creator's account from material produced for brand channels. For the first, request community information; for the second, assess production skills and usage terms. If both are required, request an offer that distinguishes them.

Five checks before contact

  1. Audience: Request recent aggregated location data if available. The city in a profile does not prove where followers live.
  2. Fit: Review several recent posts for needs relevant to your product.
  3. Quality: Check audio, clarity, subtitle readability and ability to show actual use.
  4. Organisation: Confirm availability, approval times and revision count.
  5. Transparency: Agree how commercial communication will be recognisable before publication. AGCOM's FAQs distinguish situations and formats.

You can score each item from zero to two and record why. This supports a decision; it does not certify audience authenticity. Repeated comments or inconsistent data call for questions and checks, not automatic conclusions.

Arrange a test with clear conditions

Ask two creators to propose ideas for the same need and compare timing, rights, price and possible risks. For example: “Show how to book and what happens during a first visit to our workshop.” Leave room for individual storytelling while agreeing essential information in advance.

Also decide how to observe the result: a dedicated page or voluntary question at checkout can offer partial signals. Not every customer leaves a trace, so record that limit with the result.

Frequently asked questions

Does only follower count matter? No. Audience fit, explanatory quality and delivery feasibility can be more useful for the objective.

Does a creator living in the city necessarily reach local customers? No. Request aggregated data when available and consider the content too.
